This blog will be book reviews about kids fiction coming from a kid.

This blog will summarize books and a couple main characters. I am doing this blog is for school. I love to read all types of books, but my favorite genre is fantasy. I read about 10 books a week. If you like to read then you will probably like this blog.

Because Of Winn-Dixie

Because of Winn-Dixie was written by Kate Dicamillo. The book is about ten year old India Opal Buloni. She lives in Naomi, Florida. Her father is a preacher. When Opal visits the Winn-Dixie supermarket everything changes. A dog somehow gets into the store and causes chaos. When the owners try to throw him out Opal steps up and saves the dog, by saying that he is her dog. She names him Winn-Dixie after the store she found him in. Winn-Dixie helps Opal make friends, talk to her dad, and stand up to Stevie and Dunlap, two mean brothers. Good things happened because of, well, Winn-Dixie. Because of Winn-Dixie is a funny, happy story.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

The Series of Unfortunate Events series was written by Lemony Snicket. The series is made up of 13 books. The books are The Bad Beginning, The Reptile Room, The Wide Window, The Miserable Mill, The Austere Academy, The Ersatz Elevator, The Vile Village, The Hostile Hospital, The Carnivorous Carnival, The Slippery Slope, The Grim Grotto, The Penultimate Peril, and The End. The Bad Beginning is about Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire. Violet was an inventor. Klaus being a big reader was very smart. Sunny was an infant and liked to bite things. When their mansion burned down their parents perished, leaving them as orphans. They go and live with a very distant relative: Count Olaf. Count Olaf was very strict and makes them do all the chores such as chopping wood, cooking dinner, and cleaning his entire filthy house! Also he is clearly after their parents enormous fortune !!!!!!!!!! The Series of Unfortunate Events Series is an exciting, remarkable, funny book.

The Mysterious Benedict Society

The Mysterious Benedict Society was written by Trenton Lee Stewart. There are 4 books in the series. The books are The Mysterious Benedict Society(1), The Mysterious Benedict Society and The Perilous Journey(2), The Mysterious Benedict Society and The Prisoners Dilemma(3), The Mysterious Benedict Society and The Riddle of Ages(4). When the ad “Are You A Gifted Child Looking For Special Opportunities” shows up in the newspaper, dozens of children come to take tests that will give special opportunities. Reynie Muldoon is one of those children. He is the only one who passes the peculiar tests in his group. He meets up with the other kids who have passed, Kate Wetherall, Sticky Washington(His real name is George not Sticky), and Constance Contraire. Then they meet Mr.Benedict, the person who sent the tests out. He tells them that he needs them to be his secret agents!!!!! They need to enroll in a mysterious institute where they must find the sender. The Sender is a person shrouded in mystery who sends messages into other persons head to irritate, confuse and almost control them………………… The Mysterious Benedict Society is a fantastic, mysterious book.

The 13 Story Treehouse

The 13 Story Treehouse series was written by Andy Griffiths and Illustrated by Terry Denton. The books in the series are The 13 Story Treehouse(1), The 26 Story Treehouse(2), The 39 Story Treehouse(3), The 52 Story Treehouse (4), The 65 Story Treehouse(5), The 78 Story Treehouse(6), The 91 Story Treehouse(7), The 104 Story Treehouse(8), The 117 Story Treehouse(9). Andy and Terry live in a treehouse, but not just any treehouse…….. a 13 story treehouse!!!!!! They are authors Andy writes the words and Terry draws the pictures. Their publisher, is Mr.Big Nose, whose nose would probably explode if you made him too mad. Their stories of their treehouse are a bowling alley, a see-through swimming pool, a games room, a secret underground laboratory, a lemonade fountain, a vegetable vaporizer, and a marshmallow machine that shoots marshmallows into your mouth. They have a book due but they keep getting distracted by the treehouse’s problems. Will they get their book done? Will they lose the treehouse? Will Mr. Big Nose explode? Big Nate, In A Class By Himself

The Big Nate series was written by Lincoln Peirce. It has comic books with a bunch mini stories and chapter books too. The books in the chapter book series are Big Nate, In a Class By Himself(1), Big Nate, Strikes Again(2), Big Nate, On A Roll(3), Big Nate, Goes For Broke(4), Big Nate, Flips Out(5), Big Nate, In The Zone(6), Big Nate, Lives It Up(7), and Big Nate, Blasts Off(8). Nate is not the average 6th grader. Well at least he thinks he isn’t. Nate goes to school one day and gets an amazing fortune inside a fortune cookie. It’s amazing. It’s spectacular. It’s stupendous. It’s not a dumb one (Like an unlit candle frightens no monkey). It’s TODAY YOU WILL SURPASS ALL OTHERS!!!!!!!!!! Nate spends all day trying to figure out what he is good at. Is it breaking world records? Drawing world famous art? Or another talent that no one else has? Big Nate is a funny school book series.

The Land Of Stories

The Land of Stories series was written by Chris Colfer. The series consists of six books. The books, in order, are The Wishing Spell(1), The Enchantress Returns(2), A Grimm Warning(3), Beyond the Kingdoms(4), An Author’s Odyssey(5), and Worlds Collide(6). The books are about twins Alex and Conner Bailey. Alex enjoys school and is very energetic and perky. Her brother Conner is the exact opposite. He falls asleep in class and jokes around. Then one birthday they receive a surprising present from their grandmother……….HER FAIRY TALE STORYBOOK! Later the twins bring the book to school and a bird flies out of the book Then when the two come home they fall into the book which houses a fairy tale world…. The Land of Stories is a funny, Fairy tale, exciting book.

Treasure Hunters

The Treasure hunters series was written by James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein. It is a six book series. The books are Treasure Hunters(1), Danger Down the Nile(2), Secret of The Forbidden City(3), Peril At the Top of the World(4), Quest For the City of Gold(5), and All American Adventure(6). The books are about the Kidd kids, Bick, Beck, Storm, and Tommy. When their mom and dad mysteriously disappear the Kidd kids decide to continue the family business…………TREASURE HUNTING! They find their dad’s checklist and follow its directions. The list leads them to many places, friends, and foes. The Treasure Hunters series is a hilarious action packed set of books

Story Thieves

Story Thieves was written by James Riley. There are five books in the series. The books are Story Thieves (1), The Stolen Chapters (2), Secret Origins(3), Pick the Plot (4), and Worlds Apart (5). The books are about Owen and Bethany. Owen is at school one day and he sees Bethany coming out of a book. Bethany then reluctantly reveals her secret. She is half fictional so she can travel into books. Owen convinces her to travel into a book with him and he tells a character that he is in a book. The person gets out and causes chaos in the real world. He believes everything and one fictional should be let out of their book! Story Thieves is a funny, exciting, and excellent book.

How To Train Your Dragon

The How To Train Your Dragon Series was written by Cressida Cowell. The series is about Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third, a viking child. He is the son of the chief, Stoick. He is small, skinny, and as his cousin Snotlout calls him useless. Hiccup and the rest of the viking kids go into a dragon cave to pick out their dragon eggs. Hiccup gets a tiny green dragon that is the tiniest dragon ever. It may even be most common ever. He names it Toothless. Hiccup then discovers that he can understand and speak Dragonese the language of dragons. He has many enemies like Alvin the Treachorous, Norbert the Nutjob, and the Hairy Scary Librarian. There are twelve books in the series. The books are How to Train Your Dragon (1), How to be a Pirate (2), How to Speak Dragonese (3), How to Cheat a Dragon’s Curse (4), How to Twist a Dragon’s Tale (5), A Hero’s Guide to Deadly Dragons (6), How to Ride a Dragon’s Storm (7), How to Break a Dragon’s Heart (8), How to Steal a Dragon’s Sword (9), How to Seize a Dragon’s Jewel (10), How to Betray a Dragon’s Hero (11), and How to Fight a Dragon’s Fury. They are good, funny, and exciting books.

The Secret Series

The Secret Series was written by Pseudonymous Bosch. It is made up of 5 books.The books are The Name of This Book Is Secret (Book 1), If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late (Book 2), This Book Is Not Good For You (Book 3), This Isn’t What It Looks Like (Book 4), and You Have To Stop This (Book 5). In the books two kids, Cassandra and Max-Ernest investigate a magician’s house and discover a secret note book that many are after. It depicts the life of Pietro, the magician, and his brother Luciano Bergamo. They work at a circus as magicians until a lady with gold hair and jewelry shows up and invites Luciano to come withe her. He never returned to the circus. Mysteriously enough one person that is looking for the notebook fits all the descriptions of the golden lady. She works for The Midnight Sun, a secret society filled with many who want to know THE SECRET and use it for bad. The Terces society is trying to stop the Midnight Sun. Cassandra and Max-Ernest help the Terces society many times. I liked the Secret Series. It was a funny, mysterious, and action packed story.
